Tyson grew up in Brooklyn’s ghetto. His father disappeared when he was two years old, his mother died when he was 16. Mike hit the criminal path and occasionally was in prison. Book Trainer Constantine ‘Cus’ D’Amato became his mentor and replaced his father, took him under his guard and brought him back on the straight path. As an amateur boxer, Tyson made an impression by winning 24 of his 24 games.
